Halloween party alot of fun!

<div class=\"postavatar\">halloween-party-alot-of-fun</div>

We had our annual adult halloween costume party last night and it was SOOO much fun!! We had about 20 people here and all but 3 were dressed up in costume. Unfortunately my camera battery died so I wasnt able to get a full group shot, but my cousin had her camera so I uploaded the pictures she took to the gallery of some of us all dressed up. The pics are located in the new album for Holiday gatherings.

Enjoy!!

So I was driving to school on Tuesday and caught NPR’s program called “Fresh Air” where their guest was Antonia Juhasz. She wrote a book named “The Tyranny of Oil: The World’s Most Powerful Industry-and What We Must Do to Stop It.” She is also a fellow at the organization ‘Oil Change International’ and the ‘Institute for Policy Studies’. I was especially interested in the part where Phil Gramm, Senator John McCain’s cochair in his presidential campaign as well as advises him on economic matters – including his comment a couple months back calling the American public a bunch of “Whiners” as well as saying we’re in a “Mental Recession” was the man who slid in the legislation deregulating the Oil Futures market and the Enron Loophole. It’s amazing to hear how our large Banks and the Oil companies are getting in bed together. Click and listen to the 28 minute stream and then ask yourself “What else he’s “advising” to Sen. John McCain?”.

  • Nilla the wonder pudty…

    <div class=\"postavatar\">nilla-the-wonder-pudty</div>

Our female cat is a riot. Today while perched on a barstool in the kitchen, she spied a fly landing and tried a ”trapeeze act” on my dining room chandelier. I saw her jump out of the corner of my eye and then heard a clang and a thud as she hit the light and landed on her side on the kitchen table. (so much for ALL cats landing on thier feet.. this ones a clutz!) I looked up and saw my chandalier swinging like we had just experienced a large earthquake and there she was sitting on the table staring at it thinking…. “crap, I missed!!!”.

Where she thought she was gonna land is beyond me…LOL!

So today Cyndi and I found our dog Tiger a new home thanks to this A-hole of a neighbor we have. This guy has a big and aggressive German Sheppard who would try to come through the fence when we let our dogs  out.  Of course it’s “our fault” because our little poodle would bark when he let his dog in to the backyard.  After his dog would go bat-shit crazy and try to get through the fence, this piece of work would call the county accusing our dogs of excessive barking.  He came to the door a few weekends back and spoke to Cyndi where the first thing out of his mouth was “You have to do something about YOUR dogs!”.  Couple days ago we got a letter from “Community Arbitration” asking us to negotiate with this A-hole of a neighbor  to come to some type of an arrangement.  I called the arbitrator and spoke to him about the situation and during the conversation I found that he moved in 2 years ago, we had no idea that anyone was living in the house.  Well, Cyndi and I already decided to find our dogs a new home prior to the arbitration request and today we found Tiger a new home with a nice lady who has fenced acreage in Onalaska. He took to the place quickly and was playing with his new partner in crime who’s name is Jade.

Cyndi may have found a new home for our poodle Kendal-Ann, but we need to talk to the prospective owner who already has a little poodle and wants another companion for her pooch. She sounds like a good possibility. Once we have new homes for our dogs, so help me if this guy calls the county again for “barking dogs” I’ll pull my hair out. *SIGH* Pity we can’t toss our A-hole neighbors in to a tree chipper *CACKLE* as his little dog too!

  • Driving to school sucks!

    <div class=\"postavatar\">driving-to-school-sucks</div>

So school has started and driving to Monmouth to catch classes completely sucks!  Driving an hour and a half one way three times a week will suck.  Thankfully the one 3 day per week class, the instructor is willing to let me only show up on Mondays as long as I keep my work up and pass the weekly quizzes.  Out of my classes, the toughest will be my Math class and the database class will be the ones I think I’ll be spending most of my time in.  I’m hoping that my experience can carry me through this class, the amazing thing is that the book we’re using is the Microsoft Network + certification book.  I figure I will just take the certification exam after the class is over, might as well get a cert from it.  I wonder if I take the exam and pass it if they’ll let me use the certification in lieu of the class??
