The Schricker family blog and more.
The Schricker clan in America began when my father, Ted, immigrated to the United States on May 20, 1960 on a work visa from Germany as a machinist. After living and working in Sedro-Wooly for 3 months, he got a letter from the US Army stating that he was to be drafted. After accepting the draft and going to Fort Ord, an officer suggested that he sign up for 3 1/2 years instead of being drafted for 2 years and then serving 6 years as reserve. Ted signed up for a standard 3 1/2 year enlistment, was trained and then sent to Germany to guard the border as mechanized infantry.
After Dad returned from the US Army in September of 1963, he met our mother Albina in the spring of 1964 while visiting friends in Vancouver BC. In November of 1964 they were married and have remained married since. Ted and Albina have two sons and one daughter: Karl, Anita and Robert.
Karl has moved to California where he married his sweetheart Barbara (www.schricker.ch), Anita is married to Scott Glazer while Robert has married Cyndi.
It was believed that we were the first Schricker’s in America for a long time, until we found that we had a distant relative in Indianna who was voted their Governer twice: Henry Frederick Schricker
The immediate family has grown with the addition of Two grandkids from Karl and Three Step-Grandchildren from Robert.
